Show shines in Minyip
Minyip Show and Shine drew a strong crowd and delivered a successful 10th event, with chairman Peter Niewand praising the weather, turnout and community support.

Mr Niewand said the event ran smoothly, with only a little rain arriving after the presentations.
“The weather was pretty pleasant throughout the show, and we only had a shower of rain after the presentation,” he said.
“There were 110 entries in total, which was excellent.”
Organisers blocked off the entire main street for the show, and Mr Niewand said the community backed the event in a big way.
“The support was amazing, as we blocked off the entire main street during the show," he said.
The event also featured a local art display, which added another attraction for visitors.
“We had a great exhibition from the local Minyip art group,” he said.
“They showed a lot of local paintings and art pieces, which amused the attendees."
Mr Niewand said the showgrounds and market area offered plenty for people to see and enjoy.
“There were also plenty of stalls for the market and showgoers, and a beautiful range of different bikes and cars.
Fundraising efforts also yielded strong results, with proceeds supporting the Royal Flying Doctor Service.
“The raffle also went well and raised a handsome amount of money for the Royal Flying Doctors.”
He said the biggest highlight was the turnout from locals and visitors alike.
“I think the large attendance of the community and general public was the highlight of the show.”
Mr Niewand said people travelled from across the region to attend the milestone event.
“We had a great support for our 10th show, and people came all the way from Mildura, Ararat, Bendigo, Swan Hill and the neighbouring towns of Minyip to enjoy the versatility of it.”
He thanked the many people and groups who helped make the day possible.
“A large thanks to the community who helped run the show," he said.
“A special thanks to the community of management for organising another successful show and especially Yarriambiack Shire Council, as without their help, we won’t be able to do it.”
Mr Niewand said the committee expects to hold next year’s show on February 28, 2027.
