Sights set on high numbers

Iman Ali has her sights set on figures after recording a top-scoring number in the end of school Australian Tertiary Admission Rankings.

Horsham College's top student plans to study for a Bachelor of Advanced Mathematics at the University of New South Wales, and said she was "surprised and happy" at her score.

Born and raised in Pakistan before moving to Australia with parents Dr Nadira and Abid Ali when she was in Year 7, Iman earned an ATAR of 98.2.

Close behind Iman was Chloe Brennan with an ATAR of 97.7. The daughter of Delilah and Peter Brennan, she plans to study optometry at Deakin University.

Lani Jones, daughter of Jill McLeod and Dave Jones of Natimuk, received an ATAR of 97.4. She hopes for a spot at Melbourne University to study enviro-sciences.

Horsham's newest secondary school, Holy Trinity Lutheran College, has its fifth dux, as Year 12 student Angela Rudolph scored an ATAR of 83.45.

Angela, eldest of Glenn and Pauline Rudolph's three children, plans to take a gap year before starting a wildlife and biology conservation course at Deakin University, Burwood.

​The St Brigid's College honour roll​ will see Rory Doran​'s name appear ​for a second time, after the college captain ​also became this year's dux​.

Rory, daughter of Brendan and Christine Doran, plans to study law and commerce at Latrobe University's Bundoora campus. The college did not release the scores.
