Slight shift in survey results
The Yarriambiack Shire has seen in slight decrease in most areas after the recent Community Satisfaction Survey results were released.

From the opinion of 400 randomly selected residents, the shire scored 56 for Overall Council Performance which was higher than the small-rural average (54) and the statewide average (53), however, it is a two-point decrease from last year's score (58).
Overall council direction (46), consultation and engagement (57), lobbying (53), and business and community development and tourism (58) have scored higher than both the small-rural and statewide average but fell short compared to last year's result.
Among Yarriambiack's top performing areas were customer service (68), waste management (65), recreational facilities (65) and elderly support services (60).
Waste management improved by two points and is on par with the statewide average but scored one point lower than the small-rural average, while elderly support services and recreational facilities scored lower.
“Waste management continued to be a challenge for our Council, as we navigate the high cost of servicing our community," Yarriambiack CEO Tammy Smith said.
Increasing from 67 last year, customer service scored greater than both the small-rural and statewide average.
Community decisions stayed the same (56) while value for money scored a low 49.
Sealed local roads continued to score significantly below both averages at 35, however, it is a two-point increase from last year's score of 33.
An additional survey question relating to specific roads was asked to better understand what particular roads were of concern for residents.
“When analysing the verbatim detailed comments in relation to the roads, it identified that majority of the concerns raised related to VicRoads roadways,” Ms Smith said.
“Whilst we recognise our roads require increased investment and continue to lobby both Commonwealth and State Government for further funding to address our renewal gap, it should be noted that our scoring also reflects the state of our surrounding Victorian Government owned, maintained and managed roads.”
