Ms Schneider, 30, who has worked tirelessly for many sporting groups over the years, was the sole person nominated from the state's west.

She has encouraged inclusion of all-abilities athletes in the Wimmera, founded the Wimmera Whippets netball club and established a Regional All Abilities Netball League which has attracted participants and teams from Kaniva, Warracknabeal, Murtoa, Minyip, Rupanyup and further afield in both netball and football.

Wimmera Sports Assembly executive officer David Berry said that despite challenges, including limited funding and remote locations, Ms Schneider had shown remarkable leadership skills.

"She has been relentless in her efforts to secure sponsorships and enhance community engagement and inclusivity," Mr Berry said.

"Her leadership cultivates a sense of belonging, empowering participants and garnering widespread support from mainstream clubs, including those in the Wimmera, Ballarat and Warrnambool."

He said that through her dedication Ms Schneider had created opportunities, overcome barriers and enriched the lives of many Wimmera athletes, especially all-abilities athletes.

Ms Schneider is the Wimmera Regional Sports Assembly all-abilities program manager.

Winners will be announced at a gala presentation dinner at Sofitel Melbourne on Collins on June 14.
