Stawell gets new gynaecology clinic

Grampians Health has launched a new gynaecology clinic in Stawell to expand access to specialised care for women in the region.

The new service, part of the Women’s Health Clinic project, strengthens local healthcare by offering vital support for gynaecological conditions.

The clinic operates three times a month and provides care for issues such as menstrual disorders, pelvic pain, and endometriosis.

A gynaecology registrar leads the clinic, which also delivers reproductive health education.

“Our overarching goal is to ensure we make care accessible to the communities we serve and the gynaecology clinic in Stawell represents our ongoing commitment to providing accessible and specialised healthcare to our community,” said Ben Kelly, chief operating officer of Grampians Health.

“We are excited to expand our services with the new clinic in Stawell and look forward to seeing the positive impact it will have on our patients’ lives,” he said.

The clinic builds on recent expansions in women’s health services across the region.

Grampians Health recently opened pelvic health physiotherapy clinics in Stawell and Horsham, offering treatment for pelvic floor disorders, pelvic pain and post-partum care.

Grampians Health clinical director of women’s and children, Dr Natasha Frawley, emphasised the clinic’s importance.

“The clinic complements our other services in Stawell and will help address a range of gynaecological issues, while improving the overall health and well-being of women and all gender diverse people in the local community,” she said.

“More importantly, women in Stawell and the surrounds will have access to quality specialist care, closer to home.”

Grampians Health continues to lead the way in Victoria by launching dedicated women’s health clinics that address pelvic pain, heavy bleeding, prolapse, incontinence, contraception, and menopause.

The organisation also recently introduced a clinic in Ballarat focused on managing heavy menstrual bleeding.

Women can access the Stawell clinic with a GP referral.
