Stick Shed on the move to stay put
The Stick Shed at Murtoa is 'moving' to a new address - and staying exactly where it is.
For years the Stick Shed has been listed as 1465 Wimmera Highway but recently while preparing to have NBN installed it was discovered that this address covers the rest of the Murtoa Grain Corp site but not the Stick Shed itself.
“It came as a bit of shock when we checked the map and found our land had no street address at all,” Stick Shed committee chair Sally Taylor said.
“We contacted Yarriambiack Council, who have moved very quickly to make our new address official.”
The new address - 1471 Wimmera Highway 3390 - has been submitted to VicMap, which will alter its data which will then be collected by the federal entity Geoscape Australia.
Geoscape passes the data on to other mapping services like Google Maps.
“We will be updating our brochures, website and social media to reflect our new address," Stick Shed secretary-treasurer David Grigg said.
“Once the GPS maps have updated it will make our entrance easier for our visitors to find.”
