Students cosy up for a cause
St Joseph’s School was a sea of flannelette, fleece, and fun as students and staff donned their favourite pyjamas and beanies to raise funds for the Cancer Council.
The cosy dress-up day brought warmth not only in clothing but in community spirit, as the school rallied together to support a cause close to many hearts.
The decision to hold a Pyjama and Beanie Day was driven by the number of families within the school community who have been affected by cancer.
With this in mind, students enthusiastically participated, eager to make a difference and show their support.
Gold coin donations and generous contributions from families and community members helped raise an incredible $888 for the Cancer Council, which supports cancer research, prevention programs, and assistance for those living with cancer.
“It’s wonderful to see our students showing compassion and solidarity,” said teacher Donna Horman.
“This day was not just about raising money, but also about standing together in support of those in our school and local community who have been touched by cancer.”
With smiles on their faces and warmth in their hearts, the students of St Joseph’s proved that even small acts, such as wearing pyjamas to school, can make a big difference.
