We were thrilled to have a strong field of 41 enthusiastic runners representing their houses with pride.

All girls and boys aged 12 to 15 years tackled the three-kilometre course, while the older boys (16 to 20 years) took on the more challenging five-kilometre run.

The scenic track wound along the creek trail between Werrigar Street and Lyle Street, before finishing in a spirited dash onto the school grounds.

Throughout the event, students embodied our school values of Respect, Excellence and Resilience.

Whether facing tight and depleted muscles or cheering on their peers at the finish line, their commitment and positivity were outstanding.

A heartfelt thank you to all staff and student helpers, particularly the DISSC students, whose support ensured the event ran smoothly.

Your efforts were vital to the success of the day.

Congratulations to everyone who took part – you did yourselves and your houses proud.

Age champions were Ruby Loats and Joe Thompson (12-13 years), Piper Knorpp and Evan George (14 years), Emelia Martin and Tom Penny (15 years), Madison Heller and Hayden Polack (16 years), Lucy Holland and Dane George (17-20 years).

There were some very good times in all age groups.

The fastest time for the girls’ 3km run was by Piper Knorpp (17 min 17 sec).

For the junior boys' 3km run, we had two runners under 15 minutes.

They were Tom Penny (13 min 36 sec) and Evan George (13 min 37 sec).

(21 min 6 sec).

Students finishing in the top six under the qualifying time had the opportunity to compete in the Black Ranges Interschool Cross Country event held in Murtoa on Thursday May 8.
