Swan Hill teen charged following death of girl in Donald

A 16-year-old boy has been charged after human remains were located in Donald on Thursday during search for a missing teenage girl.

A Victoria police spokesperson said the teen was charged with one count of murder.

The boy from the Swan Hill area was arrested by detectives on Friday following the execution of a warrant at a residential address.

The charge followed an investigation into the disappearance of a missing 13-year-old girl who was last seen on July 4 and was reported missing to police by a family member on July 5.

The boy is expected to appear before a children’s court this afternoon for a remand hearing.
