Taylors Lake overcome determined Edenhope Apsley

Taylors Lake enter the long weekend with a win as they defeated Edenhope Apsley in seniors football on Saturday during round eight of the Horsham District Football Netball League.

Final scores were Taylors Lake 14.7 91 to 11.9 75 Edenhope Apsley. 

Playing against an Edenhope side fresh off a bye, the visitors got off to a strong start, leading by 19 points after the first quarter, and continued to extend their lead to be up 56-28 at half-time. 

Taylors Lake entered the final term with a 35-point lead before a spirited Edenhope outfit got within fighting distance before going down. 

Koby Westerland and Patrick Lindsey were the best players for Taylors Lake, while best players for Edenhope were Ryan Obst and Angus Wood.

Riley Hall and Logan Millar each scored three goals for Taylors Lake, while Wood booted four to lead Edenhope.

The result sees Taylors Lake rise to eighth on the league ladder, and Edenhope Apsley remains in 11th as all teams have a week off with the long weekend break.
