Three more Sports Star finalists announced
Lilly Weir, Kelly Miller and Josh Barry join Georgia Foster and Remi Bailey as finalists for the 2025 Wimmera Sports Star of the Year award.

The Wimmera Regional Sports Assembly announced the trio for their performances on the national and international stage for their respective sports.
Having started CrossFit in late 2022, Weir has made a meteoric rise in the sport, highlighted by her selection in the world final of the Teenage CrossFit Games.
Held in the United States in August, Weir placed 13th in the world final and finished as the second-best performer in the Oceania region.
Triathlete and Wimmera Sports Star Hall of Fame inductee Kelly Miller earns her finalist position after an extraordinary year.
Miller won her age category at both the Ironman New Zealand and Ironman Cairns events, earning her selection at this year’s Ironman World Championships in Kona, Hawaii.
At the world championships, Miller placed fourth, earning her a spot on the podium and further distinguishing herself as one of the Wimmera’s best-ever endurance athletes.
Barry’s success on the national lawn bowls stage continued with another standout year.
The Warracknabeal local claimed silver in the multi-disability open pairs at the 2025 Australian Open, while helping Victoria claim victory in the para bowls test series against New South Wales.
Just recently, Barry’s Victorian team won a fifth-straight gold medal in the men’s triples at the Bowls Australia Para National Championships in Burnie, and took bronze in the doubles.
The winner will be announced on Friday, February 13, 2026.
