Tigers to face Bulls in grand final

Sea Lake Nandaly has bounced back from their qualifying final loss to Birchip-Watchem last week to defeat Wedderburn by 32 points at Charlton Park on Saturday in the preliminary final of the North Central Football Netball League. They will now play Birchip-Watchem in a highly anticipated grand final at Donald Recreation Reserve on Saturday.

The Tigers pounced on the Redbacks early, kicking three goals to lead by 18 points at quarter-time.

The Redbacks bounced back in the second, but the Tigers were too strong, repelling their charge to extend their margin to 24 points at half-time.

A four-goal to nil third quarter saw the Tigers run away from the Redbacks to have a winning 46-point lead at three-quarter time.

With their place in the grand final assured, the Tigers did what they had to do in the last, with the Redbacks fighting back and outscoring them. The Tigers only kicked one goal that quarter to run out 11.6.72 to 5.10.40 winners.

Oscar Holt kicked a team-high two goals for the Redbacks. Hamish Lochart, Danny Benaim, Joe Lockhart, Jordan Hargreaves, and Darcy Jackson were among the best for the Redbacks.

The Tigers will face the Bulls at Donald Recreation Reserve in the grand final next Saturday. They last met in the semi-final, which the Bulls won by two points last weekend.
