Tight tussles and last-end drama in Ladies Pairs Champions
In overcast conditions with rain threatening, the championship pairs event was recently held at Warracknabeal Bowls Club, generously sponsored by Noreen Belot and Isobel Davison.

Four ladies' teams played each other in a sectional format, with no team winning their three games.
In round one, Robyn McLachlan and Jing Robertson defeated Michelle Powell and Edna Anderson with persistent bowling, which saw them card five shots on the eighth end after fighting to level the score from a slow start.
Team Michelle/Edna replied with a three, but were two down last end and dropped one.
The other round one game between team Gaile Arnold/Isobel Davison and team Debra Steed/Noreen Belot, was a closely fought tussle with team Deb/Norz hanging on to win by one shot.
Round two saw Deb/Norz become the only two-game winners at this stage of the competition.
They had another tight game and scored the winning shot on the last end against Robyn/Jing.
Michelle/Edna managed a reverse break to what had occurred in their first game by scoring a six on the ninth end against Gaile/Isobel.
This gave them a seven-shot buffer into the last end, which they increased to 9 with another two.
The all-important round three saw wins to Michelle/Edna and Robyn/Jing, with overall aggregate shots-up going to Robyn/Jing.
Congratulations, Robyn McLachlan and Jing Robertson.
