Local students took time out of their busy classroom schedules on Thursday to enjoy Alpha Shows' production of Hercules - a classic story which follows the world's strongest man's quest to become a hero and rejoin his father, Zeus, in Olympus.

The story is exciting and action-packed, with laughs for all ages, and also explores the isolation Hercules feels from his extra strength, which helps children and adults alike gain some compassion and connection with how many young people feel today.

St Mary's Primary School principal Nerida Holland thanked Country Education Partnerships for their support, which made it possible for the production to come to Warracknabeal.

"A special sequence in the show allowed the audience to connect with their inner hero," she said.

"It was great for helping children to step up into being more confident and certain they can accomplish their life’s purpose.

"The children were invited to step up, take action and be a true hero in their everyday life, and to find their inner beauty and the gifts they have to give to the world."

Alpha Shows are an educational theatre company who are based in Melbourne and tour nationally with their productions.
