Up in flames

Warracknabeal Fire Brigade was called to a residence on Werrigar Street at 2.39pm on Tuesday, May 20, where they were met with a car engulfed in flames.

Warracknabeal Fire Brigade was called to a residence on Werrigar Street at 2.39pm on Tuesday, May 20, where they were met with a car engulfed in flames.

The early Hyundai SUV was totally destroyed in the blaze with the airbags exploding while firefighters worked to extinguish the flames.

Next to the car were railway sleepers which also caught alight.

The Herald understands the car has sat at the residence for about two years.

Local police also attended the scene due to the suspicious circumstances surrounding the incident which was brought under control just after 3pm and was declared safe at 3.17pm.
