Veteran golfers turn out for 4BBB Event
The Wimmera Veteran Golfers had a fantastic turnout for the 4BBB Event on Monday, June 2, at Jeparit, with 63 Players, including 15 ladies.

There were some great scores, but the winners for the day with 49 points were Josie Illig and Mal Elliott, all the way from Grange Golf course.
Runners-up with 45 points were Chris Phelan and Russell Schultz from Warracknabeal, and third place went to Wayne and Ann Morton from Jeparit with 44 points (on a countback with David Baker/Daryl Dunford and also Shurlee Skiller/Elaine Oakley).
Even though there are eight Par three’s at Jeparit Golf Course, we only had NTPs on four of them: on the 3rd: Jenny Tink and Graham Launer; on the 5th: Chris Campbell and Anthony Jones; on the 12th: Elaine Oakley and Brian Pitt; and on the 15th: Ann Moreton and Brendan Etherton.
Congratulations to all the day's Winners and thank you to Jeparit for hosting a fantastic day.
With the drought conditions throughout the Wimmera and beyond, it is also affecting our sandscrape golf courses, which don’t have irrigation and rely on Autumn rain to green them up for our golfing season.
Hence, we would like to thank all those that are participating in our scrape events early in the season and supporting our smaller Wimmera Clubs.
One thing is for sure ....There is a lot of “run” when you hit your ball down the fairway.
Our next event will be at Hopetoun on Monday, June 16, it will be a normal stableford round and the second in our Sandgreen Championships.
