Visitor info centre officially open
Horsham Rural City Council councillor Bec Slugget cut the ribbon to officially open the newly revamped visitor information centre on Sunday at Horsham Town Hall.

The upgraded space aims to enhance the visitor experience and better showcase the region’s attractions, local produce and art.
HRCC director of communities and place Kevin O’Brien said the decision to relocate the centre was based on feedback.
“The previous space limited the optimal experience for both locals and visitors,” Mr O'Brien said.
“This move allows council to better meet its Victorian Tourism Industry Council accreditation and enhance visitor expectations and improve the overall service.”
The updated centre provides comprehensive information about activities in the region while featuring locally made crafts, art and produce under the ‘Wimmera Made’ brand.
Staff have already noticed an increase in visitor numbers drawn in by the vibrant new displays and improved street frontage.
The centre is also recruiting tourism ambassadors as part of a new volunteer program.
Organisers encourage those interested to collect application forms from the centre.
Mr O’Brien also urged the public to visit the centre.
“The space is open and inviting and we encourage both locals and visitors to come and experience it,” he said.
Visitors have already started sharing positive feedback about the facility.
A tourist from Western Australia described it as an "amazing facility" and a "beautiful space".
A local parent called it “an amazing use of the old space” and a former resident said: “This is fabulous – about time.”
