Warning after three rescued in Grampians
Hikers are reminded to plan and choose suitable journeys after three Grampians rescues on the same day.

Hikers are reminded to plan and choose suitable journeys after three Grampians rescues on the same day.
On Friday, October 2, SES volunteers, Victoria Police, and Ambulance Victoria extracted an injured hiker from Silent Street near the Pinnacle.
Shortly afterwards, a lost hiker was assisted on the Mount Rosea Track.
Finally, rescue number three involved locating a missing hiker at the Wonderland Carpark.
The news follows the rescue of another injured hiker on the Pinnacle Track on September 26.
As the weather improves, a Victoria Police spokesperson reiterated the importance of hiking safety this summer.
“The Grampians provide world-class adventure opportunities and spectacular scenery, but it’s important to be prepared before heading out,” they said.
Before you head out, make sure to research the track and make sure it’s suitable for your skill level.
Wear appropriate clothing and footwear, carry sufficient food, water and a first aid kit.
Tell someone your plans, including when you plan to come back.
Finally, stay on designated tracks.
