What happened to the State School bell?

The Historical Society recently received an inquiry into the whereabouts of the bell from the State School that was on the corner of Lyle Street and Jamouneau Street.

The State School, Warracknabeal, in 1932.

Several members could remember the school.

It was demolished in the early 1960's when the new Primary School was built in Werrigar Street.

But what happened to the bell?

We assume that is was located in the bell tower in the centre of the roof of the State School, but, again no one seems to know.

Did it go with the students to the new location?

Again, no one seems to know.

If anyone can throw some light onto this question, please contact a member of the Historical Society or ring 0437 393 876.
