Whelan named All-Australian
Laharum Football Netball Club’s Chase Whelan has been named to the under 16 All-Australian Football team following some fantastic performances at the recent Marsh AFL National Development Championships.

Whelan announced himself as one of the nation’s best up-and-coming forwards with a four-goal performance in Victoria Country’s 15.13 (103) to 8.7 (55) victory over Victoria Metro, where he was also named in the best.
The 16-year-old was one of the standout performers in the team’s 103-80 loss to South Australia, kicking two goals.
Making his selection to the All-Australian team even more impressive is the fact that Whelan had to exit Victoria Country’s third and final game in the opening quarter with an ankle injury.
The youngster’s championships follows on from his standout performance at last year’s School Sport Australia Football Championships, where he was named joint Most Valuable Player, as well as making the All-Australian side.
