Wimmera and Horsham juniors make Rebels V/Line Cup squads
Numerous junior footballers from both the Wimmera Football Netball League and the Horsham District Football Netball League have been selected into the Greater Western Victoria Rebels squads for the V/Line Cup next week.
Taking place in Ballarat between September 22 and 24, the V/Line Cup will bring together the best under 15 country Victoria footballers, acting as a pathway to potential Coates Talent League selection.
Representing the Rebels’ girls will be Pippa McDonald, who played for both Horsham’s under 14.5 girls' Wimmera league side and Kalkee’s under 14 football Horsham District league side this season.
In the boys' squad, the Wimmera league representatives are Harry Hicks (Horsham Saints), Ryder Hudson (Minyip Murtoa), Billy Jenkins (Ararat), Zac Martin (Horsham Demons), Chaz Smith (Horsham) and Reef Ward (Dimboola).
The players selected from the Horsham District league are Jye Dolan (Kalkee), Aiden Reinheimer (Kalkee), Marcus McIntyre (Kaniva Leeor Edenhope Apsley) and Chase Whelan (Laharum).
LJ Kafegellis (Saints), Charlie Bell (Minyip Murtoa) and Lincoln Tucker (Horsham Demons) have been named as emergency players.
