Wimmera clubs and community groups receive HSCC funding
More than 120 volunteers and committee members from sports and community groups across the Wimmera region travelled to Horsham Golf Club on Sunday, June 22, to receive sponsorship funding from the Horsham Sports & Community Club (HSCC).

In excess of 100 clubs and community groups received a distributed $146,000 from the HSCC.
Daniel Hounsell, manager at HSCC, highlighted how the sponsorships reaffirmed the organisation's commitment to supporting sports and community groups in Horsham and beyond.
“Our sponsorship program is designed to assist, develop, promote, advance and encourage all sporting and community activities in Horsham, its surrounding districts and towns,” Mr Hounsell said.
“This funding helps ease the burden on so many tireless volunteers who work year-round to keep their clubs and groups operating and growing.
“We’re proud that this support reaches every corner of our region.
“It’s about more than just money — it’s about strengthening community ties, encouraging participation, and creating opportunities for people of all ages and backgrounds.”
One group receiving sponsorship funding was the Nhill Historical Society, which was represented by president Helen Woodhouse-Herrick and secretary Trish Alexander.
"I hadn’t been to one of these gatherings before and found it interesting to find a delightful group of people from all over the district accepting grants which would go towards the different items that they require within their clubs to make their town and clubs a happier place," Ms Woodhouse-Herrick said.
The HSCC's funding supported a range of clubs and communities, including 46 sporting clubs, 11 service clubs, six fire brigades, six community halls, three art groups, three music groups, three animal-related organisations, four education-focused groups, and seven historical societies.
