Wimmera Croquet Association’s autumn competition
Seven Dimboola Players travelled to Horsham Croquet Club for the first round of the Wimmera Croquet Association’s Autumn Competition.
Six teams of four players made up of a combination of Horsham and Dimboola members began the five-week season on a cool, but pleasant day.
top players resulted in some unexpectedly uneven matches.
The Blue team, led by temporarily unretired veteran Lyn Creasy, had a big win over Pink by 5 games to 1.
Leanne Combrink got the season off to a good start by winning all three of her games convincingly.
John Moar led the Red team to victory over Green by 4 games to 2, but with only 8 hoops separating the two teams.
White defeated Yellow by 4 games to 2 but were comfortably ahead on total hoops.
Christine Hiscock played well for White, winning all three games.
After round 1 the teams are in the following order on the ladder: Blue, White, Red, Green, Yellow, Pink.
