Wimmera in spotlight at camping show
Grampians Wimmera Mallee Tourism (GWMT) is joining forces with local government partners at the Victorian Caravan and Camping Supershow this weekend.

The event is being held at the Melbourne Showgrounds until Sunday afternoon, February 23.
With communities in both the Grampians and Wimmera Mallee continuing to navigate the challenges of the impacts of bushfires, GWMT’s participation in Australia’s largest RV, camping, and outdoor event presents a critical opportunity to reconnect with the domestic drive market and encourage visitation throughout the year.
The event provides a platform to showcase the region’s diverse experiences, promote long-term travel planning, and ensure sustained growth for the visitor economy.
Local government representatives from across the region – including councillors and leaders such as Hindmarsh Shire CEO Monica Revell – will be in attendance to engage with travellers, highlight the variety of available experiences and reinforce that the region is open for future travel.
“Now more than ever, it’s important to remind travellers that the Grampians and Wimmera Mallee are welcoming and ready to explore,”GWMT CEO Marc Sleeman said.
“This event gives us the chance to connect directly with our core target market, highlighting the incredible places and operators that make our region special, and encourage travellers to plan their next visit.”
GWMT is using the event to promote seasonal travel, long-weekend getaways, and upcoming marquee events such as Grampians Grape Escape and the Wimmera Steampunk Festival, encouraging visitors to plan ahead and secure bookings that will support the region beyond immediate recovery efforts.
