Wimmera man remanded over alleged murder
A Wimmera man will appear in the Victorian Supreme Court later this year charged with the alleged murder of a person in the Jung area.

Robert Beck, 49, of Minyip, appeared in custody in the Horsham Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, March 18, charged with one count of murder.
His bail application was opposed due to the seriousness of the charge, and the matter will proceed to the Victorian Supreme Court.
Beck is scheduled to appear in the court on July 2, 2026.
The court heard the matter was complex and would require additional time for the prosecution to prepare a brief of evidence.
Magistrate Timothy Hoare granted the prosecution eight weeks to compile the brief, allowing time for the defence to consider the material ahead of the July hearing.
On Monday, March 16, emergency services responded to reports of a man’s body found off the Henty Highway near Finlayson Road about 9.15am.
The deceased, believed to be aged in his 80s, has not yet been formally identified.
Later that day, police attended an incident on Firebrace Street in Horsham about 8.30pm, where a man was arrested following negotiations with officers.
Homicide Squad detectives subsequently charged Mr Beck on Tuesday, March 17, with one count of murder.
