Wimmera sheep no trial for yard dogs
Horsham's Maydale Reserve was awash with sheep and sheepdogs over the weekend for the annual Wimmera Yard Dog Trials.
HORSHAM’S Maydale Reserve was awash with sheep and sheepdogs - and their owners - over the weekend for the annual Wimmera Yard Dog Trials.
Grand Champion Ewe was taken out by Wurrook Merino Stud.
The Local winner was Daniel Bibby with Raffa. Bibby also took second place with Dolcie, and they were followed in third by Mark Ison with Skye.

In the Encourage category, Ash Caruana took out first with Go Getta Shadow, followed by Declan Aattrill with Dilemma Gus. In third place was Caruana again with Go getta Xena.
The Maiden category was awarded to Cloe Barake with Jazz, followed by Neville Williams and Yanto, with third claimed by Geoff McDougall and Jaffa.
In the Open, the winner, second and third place was Joe Spicer with Go Getta Basil, Go Getta Clue and Bendocpark Trix respectively.
In Novice, first place was Cloe Barake with Jazz, Joe Spicer with Betts and Herb Cooper with Squirt.
Finally, in the Improvers the winner was Josh Latty with Russell.
The event was followed by the Horsham Ag Society Fleece Competition on March 20.
