Maggie Kelm will be one of the Wimmera representatives at this weekend's Tennis Victoria State Team Championships. The action commences from 8.30am this Saturday, March 28, at Horsham Lawn Tennis Club.

Around 160 players will represent 81 teams from 14 state associations and regions, competing in teams of two, with each match consisting of two singles rubbers and one doubles rubber.

The best-performing region or association across the numerous age groups will claim the coveted Pat Cash Cup.

Tennis Victoria CEO Kim Kachel commended Horsham Lawn Tennis Club for their work ahead of this weekend's championships.

“The UNCLOUD State Teams Championships continues to be a highlight on the junior tennis calendar, bringing together exceptional young athletes from every corner of Victoria.

"Horsham Lawn Tennis Club provides an outstanding venue for this competition, and we’re delighted to see the event return to such a welcoming and well‑prepared community.

“We’re grateful for the tireless efforts of the Horsham Lawn Tennis Club volunteers and the ongoing commitment of the Horsham Rural City Council.

Their support makes this UNCLOUD State Teams Championships possible each year.”

Wimmera Region tennis representative Brendan Nitschke said it is a great opportunity for some of the region’s junior players to play against the best young players across Victoria.

“It’s a chance to play against the state’s best in their hometown, rather than travel across the state,” Nitschke said.
