Wimmera wins Handbury Cup
The Wimmera Veteran Golfers competed in the Handbury Cup 3 Way Challenge at Harrow on Monday, May 11, against Glenelg and Lower South East Districts.
Ron Oakley (Glenelg Veteran Golfers president) with winners Ian Hair (Wimmera Vets president) & David Baker (Wimmera Vets captain).
We are over the moon that the Wimmera Vets won it again this year, the third year in a row!
The Wimmera won with a score of 33.2; Runners-up Glenelg came in with 30.9 and third was the Lower South Eastern Veteran Golfers with 27.2.
We would like to thank all those who travelled to Harrow and competed in the event.

The individual results: (A Grade): 1st Graeme Whitman 37; 2nd Ron Oakley 35; 3rd Ron Thouliss 34; & 4th Anthony Jones with 33 on a countback with Mal Elliott.
(B Grade): Winner was Keith Clarke 36; 2nd Colin Stubb 35; 3rd Brian Slape 34; & 4th Brian Pitt 32 on a countback with Geoff Bond.
Nearest the Pins: on the 2nd: Barry Cakebread; 7th Ben Young; 10th Phil Dickinson & 17th John Barbetti.
