Wimmera jockeys Linda Meech and Tayla Cameron, both of Stawell, were first across the line in three of the eight races contested on a track rated 'soft' thanks to the weekend's rain and completed the quinella in the closing event of the night, the bet365 Bet Boost BM56 Handicap.

Meech opened the program with victory on Corro in race 1 and again led the field home, aboard Kijivu, in race 4.

Both rides were for Tom Dabernig's Dabernig Racing, based at Warrnambool.

They were part of a trio of triumphs for Dabernig, who also took out race 2.

Throughout the evening, Meech picked up three minor placings to add to her tally: third in race 3 with Hellish Lee for Andrew Bobbin of Grampians Racing at Ararat; second in race 5 with Over The Edge for Darryl Dodson of DI Dodson Racing at Telopea Downs, west of Nhill; and second with Tangoette in the final race, race 8, to complete a highly successful outing in Dabernig's silks.

In addition to Meech's third in race 3, Bobbin celebrated a second-placed finish in race 2 with Fashion World, ridden by Liam Riordan.

In race 8, the win with Marty Mcfly (trained by Tim Fitzsimmons at Bendigo) was the second of Cameron's career after she scored her maiden victory with Montjeuify in the Halls Gap Cup on January 4 this year.
