Woodbine reaches 70 years
Woodbine celebrated 70 years since the commencement of services at their annual general meeting (AGM) on Thursday November 14 with services awards and of course, cake.

The first meeting was held on November 14, 1954, when the hostel facility was officially opened which made Warracknabeal the first country town in Australia to establish a private home setting for those with disabilities.
Woodbine is now the largest disability service organisations based in Western Victoria, looking after almost 100 clients through a variety of services such as accommodation, social and community participation, day programs, employment and recreational activities.
To commemorate the occasion, Louise Maifold and Gwen Steinmeyer cut the cake for all to enjoy.
During the meeting, 12 members were recognised for their service to the organisation and received certificates in appreciation.
Sigrid Ellifson and Donna Krause were recognised for their 10 years of service with Nola Hadley, Kirrilee Rowe, Shane Welch and David Willsher serving for 15 years.
Julie O'Brien has been with the organisation for 20 years and Tammy Marshall and Des Roberts have both served for 25 years.
John Willsher was recognised for his 35 years of service alongside Barb Pendergast who received recognition for her 45 years of service.
With the current committee term drawing to a close, all members have chosen to renominate for their positions. This includes president Ian Penny and treasurer Julianne Phelan.
