WWHS continues to recover after Covid
West Wimmera Health Service (WWHS) has recorded nearly a 70 per cent increase in community service-type hours provided since just before the start of the Covid pandemic.

This surge reflects a higher demand for essential healthcare services such as community nursing, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, podiatry, speech pathology, dietetics and counselling.
“This result is another testament to the resilience and commitment of our allied and community health team”, WWHS CEO Ritchie Dodds said.
“Service levels bounced back fairly quickly after Covid and since then have continued to grow significantly each year.
"We're fortunate to have these services provided across our nine local communities."
The significant rise in community service hours reflects a broader shift towards increased healthcare demand, especially in rural and regional areas.
Mr Dodds said the expansion of services provided was critical in addressing the diverse and growing needs of residents across the nine communities served by WWHS.
"The increase in service hours is also a response to the heightened awareness of mental and physical health, and the importance of early intervention and continuous care," he said.
