The 10 graduating students marked the milestone with smiles, cheers and one final cruise around the school grounds.

After a morning of laughter, memories and goodbyes, the Year 12s jumped into their cars for a farewell lap, waving proudly to classmates and teachers who lined the paths to cheer them on.

For many, the day was filled with nostalgia and excitement for the future.

“It feels pretty surreal,” said graduate Kybe, who has attended Hopetoun P-12 since Prep.

“It’s gonna be pretty weird not rocking up to school every day after 13 years, but I’m excited.”

“I’ll probably miss catching up with my classmates, just the social side of it.

“The highlight’s definitely been graduating with these other nine people.

“Great bunch, couldn’t be happier.”

Classmate Jade shared similar emotions.

“I feel a bit emotional, but also happy and excited,” she said.

“Probably the highlight for me was spending time with everyone and making memories.

I’m gonna miss all of them equally.”

Looking ahead, Jade said she hopes to start an apprenticeship in hair and beauty.

“Maybe in Hopetoun or elsewhere.”

Her message to fellow graduates was simple.

“Good luck, and hope you do well with your exams and find great jobs too.”
