Hindmarsh libraries to host winter reading

In collaboration with Public Libraries Victoria, Hindmarsh Shire Libraries will once again host the Warm Winter Read program from June 1 to August 31.

The program particularly targets adult readers, 16 years or over, to encourage them to create healthy reading habits.

This includes listening to audiobooks.

As the temperature drops, the shire invites people to visit their libraries and make time for themselves.

Hindmarsh Shire Libraries has new books (including large print), audiobooks, e-audiobooks and e-books available to members.

"The concept of the warm winter read program is a great initiative to encourage our residents to still come out in the winter and engage with their community even in the cold winter months," Hindmarsh Shire Council mayor Cr Brett Ireland said.

"Along with our newly established ‘Jigsaws of You’ launch whereby you can go and tackle jigsaws depicting local places and surrounds, there’s an opportunity to keep connected this winter."

All participants who register and track their achievements across the duration of the program will be in the running to win some "bookish" prizes.

Follow Hindmarsh Shire Libraries on Facebook or check its newsletters for updates on participation.
