Hockey blasts through opening round

Dimboola RSL secretary/treasurer, Rhonda Huf will be sharing stories on Anzac Day about two Australian nurses who served in World War 2, Matron Olive Paschke and Vivian Bullwinkel. Paschke died in 1942 (presumed drowned), but both women received the highest international distinction a nurse can achieve, the prestigious Florence Nightingale Medal (Paschke awarded posthumously in 1951), with the locally-born Paschke also honoured by a sundial in her name at Dimboola Memorial Secondary College.
