Council has received $75,000 from TAC to deliver this project, with the council also contributing the same amount as a 50/50 project contribution.

Installing a new raised pedestrian crossing on Hindmarsh Street will deliver a priority crossing, making it easier and safer for pedestrians to cross the road with confidence.

The unsupervised crossing is in a heavily trafficable pickup zone which creates a risk to younger users of the Dimboola Primary School.

The project will also include construction of kerb outstands to shorten crossing distances and improve visibility between pedestrians and vehicles.

Improved lighting and better-managed parking around the crossing will further enhance safety, particularly during school drop-off and pick-up times.

Construction is expected to begin in the 2026/2027 financial year.
