With summer approaching, regular grassland observations are more important than ever to help track fire risk across Victoria. Edenhope CFA volunteer, Ian Hiller has a weekly task for about six months of the year, augmenting satellite data that informs the CFA on fire risk across Victoria. The CFA provides training and tools (such as the card Ian is holding) and is calling on more people to participate in the data reporting. For the record, Ian said the paddock pictured was “between 40 and 50 per cent” cured.
